Handa na ba sa Automation?

The UP-NCPAG Center for Leadership, Citizenship and Democracy (CLCD), UP Diliman – University Student Council (UPD-USC), UP Circle of Administrators (UP-CIRCA), in cooperation with the UP-NCPAG Student Council collaborated in bringing you Election 2010: Handa Na Ba Sa Automation?, a forum to be held tomorrow, September 24 2009, Thursday, 2-5pm at the NCPAG Assembly Hall.
This intends to educate citizens in assessing the readiness of different sectors involved in the upcoming 2010 elections. It also aims to raise the awareness of citizens by demonstrating the technology of the automated machines to be used in the said elections.
Speakers include Commissioner Rene V. Sarmiento of the Comelec, Ambassador Henrietta T. De Villa of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting, and Dr. Rowena A. Cacanindin from DepEd-NCR. A demonstration of the machines to be used in next year’s elections will follow.
I couldn’t stress more the importance of this event. With all the politicking and bickering over potential and declared candidates in 2010, we forget to know and scrutinize an important part of the 2010 Philippine Elections, that is the new automated machines. Now this is a chance for the academe to get to check and evaluate if we are, as COMELEC would say, all systems go next year.
