Manny Villar plagiarizes Cannes Lions award-winning Advertisement?

This is the new TV advertisement NP Presidential candidate Manny Villar put out. Look at it very closely. Yes, it is a very good way to share your message of anti-corruption and how you would help the Filipino people, but looks can be so deceiving. (Edit: If it’s the same ad agency who did both clips, then most probably Villar did pay for rights and everything. How much did he have to pay for it? Nonetheless, I think it’s unoriginal.)

This is, the work where people said the ad was allegedly plagiarized from, an Argentinian TV advertisement which won silver lion in the 2006 Canes Lions.

“The ad from Argentina is from SAVAGLIO/TBWA Argentina, and the local ad agency of Villar is reported to be Santiago/Puno/Mangada/TBWA. It’s possible the local ad agency paid royalties to the Argentinian ad agency or permission was given for use in the Philippines.” (The 2010 Presidentiables Blog)
